Environment and Sustainability Working Group at the OU.

The global issues around sustainability and the environment are increasingly of concern to staff and students at the OU. The OU Students Association has therefore set up a Working Group to recognise environmental and sustainability-related issues, discuss what the University can do plus create events and campaigns.

The group was formed in September 2022 and is co-led by student representative Lou Robinson, the Association’s Vice President for Engagement, and Jess Smith, the Association’s Director of Membership Services. The group consists of a mixture of staff and students and meet monthly for a two-hour meeting. The groups action plan has four main strands – Impact, Engagement, Policy and the University.
