Get involved with OU Student Consultation Meetings in March 2026!

Would you like to share your ideas and feedback about your experience with the OU? Why not take part in the Student Consultation Meetings being held in March, in-person and online, and make a difference to the current and future student and learner experience.

To sign up to a face-to-face Meeting, simply complete this form by Friday 6 March. You can then choose one of the following meetings to join (or the online options further down):

  • Saturday 21 March, Pendulum Hotel, Manchester, 10:00–16:00 (location)
  • Saturday 21 March, The Open University in Ireland, Belfast, 10:00–16:00 (location)
  • Saturday 21 March, The Open University in Scotland, Edinburgh, 10:00–16:00 (location)
  • Tuesday 24 March, The Open University in Wales, Cardiff, 10:00–16:00 (location)
  • Thursday 26 March, The Open University, Milton Keynes, 10:00–16:00 (location)
  • Saturday 28 March, Wesley Hotel Euston, London, 10:00–16:00 (location)

What will the meetings discuss?

We’ll be running interactive sessions where you will:

  • contribute to OU’s thinking on assessment design, including assessment that safeguards academic integrity in an AI world,
  • discuss how the new University strategy reflects student priorities, and
  • consider how to build a community of students and staff that meets student needs.

Open SU will be asking about online vs face‑to‑face invigilated exams and for views on the benefits and barriers of volunteering for OU students.

The meetings are a great opportunity to meet other students and be part of the wider OU community. Last year, students influenced the rewrite of the Student Charter and gave feedback on the AI Digital Assistant. You can read the OU’s response to student feedback on the Student Voice website.

You can find out more about Student Voice and Student Consultation on the Student Voice website. We also have guidance for students involved in Student Consultation, which you may wish to read before signing up via the form.

Online meetings

If you can’t make a face-to-face meeting, join one of our topic‑focused online meetings:

What happens next?

For face-to-face meetings, please fill out the form by Friday 6 March to get involved. We will let you know by 13 March if you have been allocated a place. Places are limited and allocated to ensure broad student representation. Please note that, due to high demand and travel expenses of up to £100 being provided, you are expected to attend the full day.

For online meetings, once registered, please add the meeting to your calendar. You will receive reminders and details nearer the time.

A summary of your feedback will be reviewed by senior University staff to inform ongoing improvements. We will follow up after the meetings to let you know how your input has driven change.

If you have any questions, please email student-consultation-office@open.ac.uk.

We really hope you’ll be able to join us, and if not, be sure to join our mailing list to hear about future opportunities.
